What is a good TV for our motorhome, not too expensive but a smart TV?

We bought a tv monitor from lg, 22 inch, then plugged in a firestick. It works brilliantly personally 100 times better than the ridiculously overpriced Avtex, 19inch so called Smart tv it replaced. Monitor was 148£, plus 40£ for the Firestick, Avtex 338£. No comparison. But, lg item does not work on 12v, you can I believe buy an adaptor but we have a laptop with a 12v charger if require tv without ehu. Think carefully before spending huge amounts on 12v

I use a Panasonic 19" smart tv, but it's 230 volts so I need to use the inverter to power it.
Ideally I'd like to swop it for a 12 volts tv this year but really it doesn't get a lot of use so it's been a low priority for some time.
Avtex and Cello make 12v caravan and motorhome TV's but there are others around if you do a search that are probably equally suitable.

Keep an eye open for Aldi having a 12v one with DVD and satalite receiver . That's what we have and it does the job. Use with a dish on a tripod when needed. Sat was the one from Lidl a few years ago

We gave an Avtex in the current van , i think the Sniper one we had in the previous van had a much better picture quality.

We use a Fire TV Stick with a ‘dumb’ 24” Manta tv - the Firestick gets regular updates and the total cost was far less than a dedicated ‘smart’ tv - the Manta tv is 12/240v too. (y)

We have a cheap mains powered Polaroid 24' smart TV from Asda.
It was £120 last year.
I use a little £25, 600 watt peak, 300 watt continuous inverter to run it which only draws about 3-3.5 AH from the batteries.
I use a Fire Stick with it to get Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon.
If you would prefer a 12v TV I saw a 24' Cello 12v smart TV the other day for £170.

I've just fitted one of these. On offer last week for £139 on Amazon. Android smart TV with satellite tuner and comes with a 12 volt power lead. Really easy to set up and a good quality picture. Only negative is the speakers are a bit 'tinny' but I run the sound through a Bose Mini sound bar.

I've got a 23" LG Smart TV (and a Firestick). TV has an external mains to 19v supply brick - as do many of the smaller LG TVs - so use a 12v to 19v laptop power source to power the TV from 12v. Slightly more efficient than an inverter, I believe. Most of the dedicated 12v motorhome/caravan TVs appear to be pricey and lower quality in comparison to this type of setup.

I joined the C&MC for the sole purpose of taking advantage of 3rd party discounts they offer and got a huge discount on the largest Avtex. I can’t remember exactly how much but I do recall I wouldn’t have even considered it at the normal retail price.

We have just replaced our Avtex tv with another (non smart) Avtex. The old one was 12 years old, 3 of those full time. We use a Firestick with ours.

The most cost effective way to a top TV is to install a 1000w inverter with simply a 3 core cable to a twin 230V socket next to the TV position.
Then you'll have a choice of many large, high spec, smart TV's and Soundbars for a lot less money. :drinks:
