If you are that worried go down to Exeter and back along the A35.

Get off M5 Taunton, Turn left to Ilminster, Turn right onto the 303 then enjoy the views on the Blackdown Hills and turn left onto A35 towards Axminster Charmouth then on to Bridport.

M5 Come of at junction 25 head to chard then axminster join the A35 to Bridport best roads for motorhome, the other routes are a bit tight in places.
