Hi
Just noticed these spots of rust and missing sealant on the joint over the cab, showing in the photo
I am not sure, but would the best way to clean out the old sealant, make good the rust spots, then reseal
Many thanks again

It's very close to both windscreen and shell...if it was my id take it to a body shop.

When we had a minor leak into the rooflining of the cab I thought it was from the overcab joint in your photograph so I carefully trimmed back the original sealant with a craft knife and wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Once dried (a few minutes) I then refilled / sealed with non setting sealant (Hodgsen CV).

Having said that, we didn't have rust appearing on the cab metal work but if it's just surface rust would you be able to "touch this up" with Kurust, or similar?

As it transpired the leak wasn't from that joint but a poor seal on the windscreen at the metal joint in the cab as shown in your photo. Filled this with a bit of sealant from a guy replacing our neighbours car windscreen after it was badly chipped by a stone!

Hi
I only specifically mentioned Kurust (Hammerite product) as you can normally get it in B&Q. It may not be the very best product for "curing rust" (Rustbuster / Jenolite tend to get better reviews) but it tends to be the most readily available locally.
