A little
Apologies if this is adequately covered somewhere. I've spent quite a while looking and not found a suitable recommendation.

I'm trying to figure out the best ramps to buy for levelling our new pvc van. I've seen many complaints about the strength of the common Fiamma and Thule ramps ie they split after very little use. Our van is rated to 4250KG although typically wont be much above 3500kg. It has the larger 16 inch alloy wheels.

I've seen recommendations for the Milenco Quattro ramps for being of much stronger construction than many others but I've also seen comments from owners of vans with 16 inch wheels saying that their wheels are too big to fit the curve of this ramp. This is looking like being a more problematic purchase than I was anticipating.

Are there any owners of PVC vans with 16 inch wheels out there that have a set of ramps that they're happy with and would feel comfortable recommending to others?

We’ve had these old yellow ones about 15 years still use them. They fit any size wheel/tyre.

We had this problem with the curves being too small so we just turn them over and use them as ramps. This works fine on firm ground but they will sink in on grass, so we just have a thin piece of ply to go under to spread the load and prevent that. Always best to use chocks as well if using ramps.

We’ve got 16 inch wheels and 3850kg,very happy with our Thule’s.

These work just fine with 225 profile 16” wheels. I’m also over 4,250kg.

Thule 307617 Caravan Ramps Motorhome Level Wheel, Black, Set of 2 Amazon product ASIN B00FWL4O9AETA - the price had gone mad since I got mine in early ‘19 though, they were less than £30 then.

Got the Milenco Quattro as been on 1 or 2 sites when needed the extra lift.
The really "spikey" tops have bent over in places but havn't caused any problem.
Just about fit them in the side cupboard though!!😀

Thanks. I'm currently leaning towards the Milencos (pun intended)

We bought a 2nd hand pair of Milenco Triple Ramps [there were no new Ramps available in the April reopening rush] and they're really good. Brunhilde has 16 inch wheels and they sit snugly in the 3 scoops, better than they would in the 4 pocket design. We also have 2 pairs of the yellow Fiamms ramps from our caravan days. They work well but don't give a great deal of extra height. The instructions say that you can place one ramp on top of the other for extra height, but I really don't fancy the idea.

I have the Milenco Quattro and I also have a set of Fiamma Jumbo Levels but I do like the Milenco better

Dont know why but it's just a personal preference really, the Milenco triple would be better due to the tyre fitting better on the ramp

I gave both the milenco 3 ( which I prefer) and the milenco quatro 2, good strong ramp but way to bulky and heavy.
I believe that The new milenco quatro has different dimensions.

I use the Fiamma Jumbo ramps, no step type, they seem to be made of a more resilient plastic.
Tried the Magnum ones but didn’t like the way they dug into my 16” tyres.

We have a pair of the Quattro's but hardly ever use them, due to the curves not being long enough and the van tries to roll back down.

We have the latest version of the Milenco Quad called the Quattro 3 Level. Excellent.

Have never used the chocks, waste of time and space, handbrake is perfectly adequate.

Froli are rated up to 5t from memory. Not convinced by the curved ones though.

I gave my Milenco's away, never used them.

Do you use the ply and ramps together? I tried it once on front wheels, not overly thinking, and the ramp could not find any grip on the ply and shot backwards.

Milenco squads. Have a pr free to anyone who wants them. Collection only please from Scottish borders.

Millenco Quattro for me having tried loads of others! I find the new one gripper plate you can buy for a few quid extra to hold the leveller while you drive up, see picture, are BRILLIANT!

we have 16 inch wheels!

we tried smaller lighter ones but nothing worked in all eventualities like the Quatttros!

Same for me, no problem with them.
Same for me. Had them about 10 years and one of the vans was 5.3T. Only downside as previously mentioned is that they are bulky if you have a lack of storage.
I also carry some short pieces of wood (a bit like scaffolding planks)that I got out of a skip! Most of the time that's all that's needed.

Best ramps you’ll ever have short

Two short pieces of scaffold board and four pieces of 4 x 2 👍

Used this type on our van for 3 years with no problems and have 16inch alloys fitted.

Milenco quads every time. They got me out of the prevarbial sh whilst on a single track road on harris.
Was backing off road (single track) in 8m autotail chieftan back wheels went down slightly lifting opposite corner front wheel 3 inch off floor so lost drive. Totally blocking road!!. Pushed milenco quad tight under wheel with other wedge high part to high part and with gentle clutch controol drove over the wedges back on to the road. Had they been the smooth wedges this would not have worked. Because of the design of the milencos design no problem. I thought when i bought them they were dear, now i think they were cheap. Hope this tip helps others.
