We are on our 3rd Burstner badge. Badges on 2021ish Burstners have a habit of the colours disintegrating in the sunlight. We got a replacement from Burstner under warranty that took 9 months to arrive. Within 6 months it had disintegrated again. Burstner are not willing to recognise there is an issue in manufacture and as the van is over 2 years old now it's buy a new one or repair.

So we have purchased some paints and the wife is using her artistic skills to repair the old badge. The question is what glue to use to stick it to the body of the van. It's plastic to plastic.

Below is the first one after 9 months. The 2nd was after after 6 months.

I'd look at a double sided foam tape. I've stuck car badges on with it with great success. Plus when you do need to remove it to re-paint it just slide some fishing line down and it's off it seconds.

I agree, genuine VHB 3M tape. Better than OEM

After repainting the back of ours, I used some Sikaflex 291 that was left over from another recent job to reattach it.

Gel tape is also very good. Various widths and thicknesses available. Peels off when removed.

Gel or velcro you multiply the risk of it falling off or being nicked by another owner with ruined badge. YES it happens, not every motorhome owner is nice or honest. Happened at a storage site I was using

I used Gorilla Glue 60ml as fully waterproof
You need to wet it when applying don’t put to much on as it expands when wet.

Does anyone know what the manufacturers use? If I recall correctly it had a backing to peel off and then was just a thin layer of VERY sticky stuff. It sticks well but is also quite easy to remove.

They use a trade version of VHB that is applied to the badge at the factory. Converters then peel and stick.. Some car manufacturers use a urethane mastic. That remains sticky and you remove it and it is stretchy like chewing gum but peels off clean

They delaminate all the time, the new ones are just the same.
Ive found that the actual persoex badge is bowed so so.etimes difficult to restick.
As said double sided tape , like the stuff they use for car trim.
I ended up removing all the paint and filled the indentations with paint , sanded back to ceate a crusp end then sorayed the back silver, perfect now

Hi everyone, this is just the question I was going to ask! Our Fiat badge fell off the front of our Burstner and I have managed to buy the new insert. Can anybody advise how to remove the blistering silver paint on the Fiat wording and the remnants of glue on the cover please? It appears that the back of the insert is sticky, but what glue would be appropriate to put on the edges of the cover? I suspect the Sticky Assets 3M VHB Strong Heavy Duty double sided adhesive tape (as recommended above) would not be suitable . Thanking you all in anticipation, Maddy
