Hey guys,

I’m currently knee-deep in my van conversion, planning to hit the road for a big European trip this summer! My biggest headache right now is the electrical setup—I have no experience with this stuff, and I’m worried about getting it wrong.

Ideally, I want to run lights, a fridge, and be able to charge my laptop/phone, maybe even a small induction hob. I found this full off-grid camper conversion kit: https://vanjunkies.co.uk/pages/full-electrical-off-grid-camper-conversion-kits, and it seems like a simple solution, but is it actually a good choice?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s done this before—should I go for a kit or try to build a system myself? Any beginner-friendly resources or tips would be amazing.

Thanks so much for any help!

Seems expensive in kit form. I’m sure if you shopped around and bought in component form you would save money. Contact Offgrid Power Solutions they are on here and you can claim a Funsters discount

Try going to Nomadic energy (climbingvan.co.uk) they will provide a set of working plans if you purchase kit from them 😊👍

:welco:

If you pay your subs you will get a 10% at Off Grid the owners RogerIvy & nigelivy are members here.
You will probably get the kit supplied & installed by them for those sort of prices.

It might be a bit Ott for you but this is the level of install that Offgrid power solutions offer, the workmanship is second to none. This is what they have done to my van so far👍
