Getting Better
I know the 3 data sims have been done to death on here but what about contracts...

I need a good amount of data a month, around 40-50gb a month, I don’t need calls or texts and want it to work in a 4g mifi and tether ipads to it....

It needs to work in Europe with no capping and good coverage....

What have you....?

EE have an advert going for 100GB at the moment Smiffy, not sure if works over the ditch. Call in at a 3 store see if they are matching EE?

I'm on 20gig a month for 24 quid with 3 ... (that was a 12 mth cont - now expired)... I happened across this tuther day... their latest offer..... 40 gig for 20 quid per mth... I shall be visiting them tomorrow...

it may suit you?...

By the way ... I did ask if my current plan worked in Feel at home and was assured it does... but alas haven't had the opportunity to try it.. as yet!

Edit.. linky to plans... click the more plans button....

I think all networks will have a cap abroad.

I think Vodafone do not have a cap on roaming most of the other networks there is a cap of 12 or 15 GB a month and a limit of a 120 days on a trip.

Just spent a while looking at there contract terms and came across this... note the stable links, I would probably only use it in Europe...

3 have a sale on now. I'll have to cancel my cancellation now I'll be back in the UK.
I was getting 30gb for £25 now it's 16 but on a yearly contract. Don't look as if we'll be holidaying out of the UK for a while anyway so might get ba k to them the speed over here in Spain and Portugal is very fast . Not like the last time I was over, the speed of download was terrible before the new roaming rules

3 allow max 9gig,payg.12gig,contract.that is their terms.no matter if u have 100gig,abroad its limited

The problem with all of the contracts, other than the 30 days ones, is that they can move the goal posts at any time, '3' have changed their T&Cs so that instead of only having a max 12gb pcm for a max of 2 months abroad in any 12 month 'rolling' period after which it would be turned off, instead you now have a max of 12gb pcm and anything over that will incur a supplement charge!

I’ve been reading a lot of T&C’s today and every one of the main providers has a limit, I’m going to start looking at local sims in the country ie Spain France...

Local SIMs are the way to go if it's essential for you.

Have a look at this Vodaphone link below. The 30 day rolling contract may be what you need. (Simple to cancel, just give them one months notice)

What’s more, all our new 4G Data SIMs come with Vodafone Global Roaming, giving you the freedom to use your UK data in 110 destinations worldwide. There’s no extra charge to use your UK data allowance in our 50 Roam-free destinations [PDF:668KB]

We’ve got a SIM with RegloMobile, 30gig per month for 24.95 eur, got it at Leclerc. Also gives unlimited calls and texts, but we don’t use it for that. We’re swapping between that and our capped EE sim, to get 45 gig per month total, but it looks like the EE one will stop working at some point.

Further to my last just been told by Vodafone a restriction applies after two months but many customers not being penalised. Chocolate teapot stuff !
