I'm a newbie (ISH) 2022( type 2 VW's and caravans 1980 s to 2022)s
I've tried what I think is the reset blue button in control panel with an without electricity supplied to the motorhome but the RCD remains tripped. The microwave was operating and then the RCD tripped for some reason. Just cannot get the RCD switch to stay up. Everything else works fine. We are on a certified site at the moment and the RCD at the site supply is fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated please.
Pam and Richard.

After an hour or more, I've managed to get it to work! I can't say what I might have done differently 😞. Pam says that the microwave is very "steamy" inside after use. Moisture on the inside surfaces. 😕

Presumably there is a leakage to earth when the microwave is still steamy?

Doesn't sound very well designed, maybe you can add additional ventilation or even an extracting fan, like a computer fan.

Is the microwave built in? If so, almost certainly not enough ventilation. If you cook things in an oven proof dish with a lid on it will create less water vapour, and keep the. Food being cooked more moist.

Thanks to you both for your help. We are going to investigate tomorrow . It is a fitted microwave with a vented grill above and a very small gap at the sides on the outside there are two vents. It came fitted as standard so l would hope it has been fitted correctly. I tend to use it for jacket potatoes.so only used for 7 ISH mins.

RCDs can be incredibly sensitive.

Steam in the MW still shouldn't trip the RCD it though. Of course you may also have a RCBO which is a RCD with overload protection. In that case, is it the startup current on the MW magnetron causing it to drop.

The other thing that can occasionally cause a RCD to drop is a fridge going into defrost cycle if yours has that function.

Thanks for the information l am getting the instructions out for fridge .
