We are about to retire and are looking to replace our old auto sleeper excecutive 2002 model for a modern van, we are looking at an autotrail tribute 680 and an autotrail V line 610 SE but have been put off by quite a few bad reviews.

Now we have started to look at the Benimars mileo 202 and the 283 but have noticed that the 202 seems to come up for sale a fair bit when only one or two years old am I reading to much into this.

Romany

Had a 202 for 3 years took the free up grade to 3650 few miner problems all sorted and been really pleased with the van and being only 6mtrs long
We did get it weighed with full tank of diesel and half a tank of water and all loaded we were under the 3500 so weight is not an issue and we got a fiama awning and solar

@Cheshirecat57 stating "payload" isn't helpful..in fact my Benimar 202 will be four years old in three weeks time ...after the initial faults we have been running well including our latest trips of 6 weeks France and Spain and then 4 weeks Croatia this year. I have been to a weigh bridge loaded up including electric bikes and still under 3.5T. Hope this helps @romany (y)

Thanks for all reply's so far we like both the 202 and 283, the 202 drop down bed is my wife's concern as to whether she wants to climb steps every night to go to bed.

The 283 looks a bit more versatile but for some reason the 202 seems to have a better feel to it, ah decisions decisions:)

Not trying to be unhelpful
Mileo had a bit if a reputation for poor payload

Those with actual experience of the model appear to dispel the myth, if you have satisfied yoyrself it works for you, go for it

I would get the catual vehicle weighed though
Good luck

Any point of view is helpful as then I can go away check out the point and see if it would affect how I would use the vehicle or not.
Better than coming along after someone has bought a vehicle and asking if they have checked the payload(y)

We drop the bed to table height and use a 2 step Hailo which travels on the bed ..this means it's easy in and out of bed with wide treads and have never used the ladder

We had a 202 and the bed can be dropped down to just above the seat cushions, Tracy could get in and out easily even when recuperateting from a double hip replacement. The only reason we changed it is because I am a early riser and she is not and the bed takes up the entire seating area when down.

That's actually a very good point (y)

Well having been messed about by Marquis the usual "we'll get back to you" and it never happens I have decided to try Elite Motor homes Banbury they have an Auto Trail tribute 670 which although not all the bells and whistles of the two we were originally looking at looks like it will suit what we require, going to test drive and have a really good look around it later this week.

Thanks for all the help and information so far much appreciated(y)

If you like the layout of the 202 and do not want a bed that intrudes into the lounge area take a look at the new Rollerteam Pegaso 590 https://www.practicalmotorhome.com/reviews/motorhome/97518-roller-team-pegaso-590
ours is arriving later this month.
But if you do decide on the Autotrail have a close look at the payload our friends bought one and found that they had to have the weight upgraded to 3650kg as at 3500 kg they only had 80 kgs once they were both sat inside.

Yep and that's before you've parted with your money god knows what they would be like if you had actually already given them your hard earned cash

Cant quite understand how your friends manged to only have 80kg left as MAW is quoted as 3500 and MIRO is stated as 2850 which by law has to include a 75kg allowance for driver that leaves an allowance of 650 if you take out 90kg for a full fuel load (although again 50% should be included in the MIRO)and 70kg for full water load and 75kg passenger thats 235kg which still leaves 415kg, that's a hell of a lot of payload for two of us (y).

Having said that my first stop when it is fully loaded as for a two month trip will be our local weighbridge, I have warned the company it had better come in under weight (y) or its going back:(

We've ordered a Tessoro from Marquis and so far they have been very helpful. They have always replied promptly. I've had the comment about payload too, having had a caravan for years I know the payload will be well in excess of our needs. Incidentally my OH has mobility problems and how low the bed comes down is critical for her. The bed in 486 we've ordered will come down low enough so that she just needs a small step to get in and out easily.

We bought a Tessoro 463 from Marquis last month and they have been great with us too. They sorted out some teething problems we had on our first trip by picking the van up when we returned home, fixing the problems and delivering it back to us ready for the following weekend away. I have nothing but praise for them … and the van ... we love it ! We will be upgrading to 4000Kg though but it is just a paper job via SVTech.

Glad they have been good for you, I can only speak as I find maybe it's a branch thing rather than the whole company(y)
