Since 2011, previously a tugger
In a few weeks time we're planning on heading off from Benidorm and making our way towards Portugal following the coast at a leisurely pace, using aires, camperstops and ACSI sites. From Portugal spend a month or so before heading home.

Here on El Raco at the moment there is absolutely no space whatsoever. The overflow parking is full again and there's not a pitch to be had unless you grab one as someone moves on. I'm guessing most of the other sites here are much the same.

Can anyone comment as to what it's like and how busy as you head further south and into southern Portugal?

It seems that here at least more folk are arriving than leaving!

Whilst en-route to Portugal you will find room at camperstopsierraespuna Totana, Murcia.
Sorry but we will be away for a few weeks, our neighbours are there to assist.
Happy travels.

It's full here at Marjal and we struggled to get where want to be for our next site. Our experience last couple of years is you need to book in advance if you have a particular site in mind for Jan/Feb/march. Kind of spoils it. Can't comment on Portugal, not done that yet but enjoy your trip.

find a wild spot they wont be full

it cant be the wild 1 has left for a break from ya lol

Don't miss El Rocio it's an experience not to miss the site is ACSI Camping Aldea. There is a big lagoon with all sorts of birds on it including Flamingo but the town is something else.(y) We have never advanced booked.

It's near Donana national park up near Huelva close to Spanish Portuguese border.

Good luck with that Dave & Ginny.

It is something we'd like to do also...............when we get the chance, so we'll be following your thread with interest. (y)

Thanks for asking the question. :)

Thanks for that, looks good, close to beach, found it on the 'Search for Sites' excellent web site/app. Seems to be the free one and another close at 8 euro per night.

So tempted to try some of the stunning looking Wild Camping spots that I'm seeing whilst amusing myself with the Search for Sites app. Users seem to be uploading more photos and reviews now making it, in my opinion, a great resource.

This one at Calarreona Murcia looks stunning as do many more I'm drooling over!

So are we and never thought of not finding a pitch. Well, we aren't going to have to sleep rough and we won't starve, stiff upper lip, we'll make it chaps.

Leaving benidorm tomorrow. I was worried about getting a pitch somewhere so I rang the campsite and left a deposit. That way we won't be going round and round looking for a space. Seems the campsites are full here in Benidorm, mh waiting on the road for spaces.
Our pitch had been bagged already by a couple further down the campsite because it's in more sun.

Currently in aguilas plenty of wild campers just outside town we are on the Bella vista's

There are spaces here in Marjal Costa Blanca at the moment (don't confuse with Marjal Guardamar). In fact pitches on either side of us are empty. (Wonder why? ). We are also heading off in a generally SW direction in about a week. We like Cabo de Gata, and El Rocio, also La Campina, inland Andalucia, is a lovely site. Looking for somewhere to stop near Cartagena or Aquilas next.

Autocaravanas Cartagena is a nice Aire. €10 night. All facilities and free Wi Fi. Sitting lounge, free book exchange. TV lounge. Free showers water, waste.Bus. to Cartagena 300 metres. Very friendly owners. Good english too.

There are 3 Aires in Almerimar

One behind the harbour wall (not the best view) - plenty of room

One near the harbourmasters office (more pleasant views) - half a doz spaces this morning

One just south of town (20 mins walk along prom) - loads of room

Harbour ones are about €10 without lecky or €13 with

The one out of town is €7 without, €11 with.

All 3 are on campercontact
