Hi Guys Sheila and I are going One way or the other.:BigGrin:

If we dont drive down may stay in Hotel or Apartment

unless anyone has a better Idea,

Planned Dec 2- about Jan 27th(Ish).

mass Xmas Dinner, What-ever (quiet drinkies)

happy to meet anyone in the area at the time.

Roger & Sheila.:Smile::BigGrin:

Are you carrying on to the Moroccan trip from there.

Roger & Sheila.:Smile::BigGrin:

In Feb there was a whole lot of empty hotel and apartment space judging by lights at night. Make sure you have a good haggle on price. Since the weather won't be brilliant your hotel route will make for a far nicer holiday.

We will be there at some stage either in the van or apartment..
Let you know nearer the time...:thumb:

Hi Roger & Sheila, we will be pitched up at Camping Villasol, Benidorm from sometime in December 2013 through to the end of February 2014. I believe that quite a few Funsters will also be going, not sure of their arrangements though. No doubt a thread will be started nearer to the time.

Brisey & Pamelaaar.

PS. quiet drinkies are not on our agenda.:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Avienda, I think is down very close to the town,..
Most of the Brit style bars and campsites are down at the Levente / Rincon end, closer to stagger back....

we are keeping an eye on this thread as we are interested in this as well, haven't stayed anywhere other than the uk in winter before but determined to have a bit of warmth this coming winter either in the van or hotel whichever works out best/convenient/ cost effective?
looking forward to meeting old and new acquaintances/ friends.

We will hopefully be at Villasol from 29th Dec until the end of February.

Occasionally we will have an early night (only due to the bad influence of other funsters).

Have to say that the weather in January/February was pretty good compared to the UK.

Came home with a very nice tan.

With regards to the cost effectiveness I can appreciate that apartments/hotels may work out cheaper for some. For us its the beauty of having all our own possessions etc (including bicycles) with us.

Sorry ... No dogs on Villasol...
I know a lot of people would want to try it but the no dog rule stops that.
Assume some people may even book it for that reason BUT the way the dogs bark around Benidorm you cant get away from some noise..

Several other sites nearby..

Benidorm 2014

We also hope to be at Villasol on our way (thinking via Marjal Spa and Granada) to Bella Vista\Gibraltar then maybe Cordoba on our return, travelling soon after Christmas.

We like a quieter life and usually go to bed early - 2.30am..... approx.

We will be in Beni from mid Jan through to end of Feb. Camping Villasol looks as though it could be fun. Do you have to book early?

Do you have to book early?

The way this is going you may have to.. !!!

It is a popular site with may people returning each year, I guess so do book as they always seem to be in the same place. Popular with the Dutch.
I have never booked and always got in for stays between 2 days and a month...

Unless you are staying long term ie 6moths or more, Camping Villasol will not take bookings or reservations. We stopped there last December through to the end of March and there were always plenty of pitches available.

Hi We're new to this and haven't stepped abroad yet

Spending time in Spain or similar during our winter is high on the wish list.

Do you folks organise a rally style or convoy trip or just meet each other there ?

The thing is, we are looking to learn the ropes, so going as a group would teach us a few things.

Thanks
John and Christine

Hi -- Sheila here of Teddybard -- the previous post describes exactly where we are at and because I get concerned about things we were more considering the hotel option

Most have their own preferences regarding the timing\journey\ferry so meet up at destinations. If you are planning a trip, let others know on the forum and if they or you wish you can travel together.

Watch the forum nearer the time. :thumb: There should be a group travelling to southern Spain (Malaga) in the new year.

For novice's going overseas.
There is more than enough advise on this forum and I like many other would be glad to pass on information as well..
So just ask, go for it and enjoy the van...:thumb:

watching this thread with interest we are retiring in Dec this year and are planning our first longer trip to Spain mid January till end of March, plan is Villasol first then moving to Cap Blanch Altea soooooo excited sounds like we may get to meet some of you funsters
