This runs from just above Bejar to Galisteo, about 80Kms. Bejar is also a handy stopover just off the Plata Motorway Between Slamanca and Caceres.

We rode about 15kms of it between Bejar and Banos. Surface was hard packed gravel easily wide enough for 2 bikes to pass. We encountered 3 tunnels, 2 off which were lit but lights are probably a good idea.

Looks good Jon (y)
You would love it Martin, if you zoom in on the map it looks like it does a couple of loops further down.

It's high up, for those that know that motorway, its just as you go over the hill and see the big lake

You may be interested in this thread which is a gateway to several other threads, mainly of disused railway lines and alike.
The Donau was done last year which is your neck of the woods

Super, Thank you 👍👍👍

We rode (mountain bikes without batteries) the Via de la Plata many years ago. The whole area around Bejar is lovely.

I think motorhome parking areas are more prevalent nowadays.

If you stop at Salamanca there is an interesting little museum with cars and bikes.
