Morning funsters

In a week we are off to Spain again for a couple of months, last year I was rather cavalier with regard to weight & was definitely overweight.

Current M/H is Autosleeper Broadway lp with the usual 3500kg plate. I have had a preliminary weigh which came out at 3200kg, this was with driver & 1/3rd tank of fuel, no water & empty grey tank.

Adding my other half, filling the fuel tank, awning, other essentials & cycles and bike rack we are probably going to be over by 50-75kg.

My question is if stopped in Spain & weighed & over the 3500kg, does one have to unload & is there a fine involved?

Cheers

We got stopped about four years ago in northern Spain on the motorway, on a Sunday ( no lorries to stop on sunday) a French motorhome in front of us also got pulled over, both of us over weight, €200 fine reduced to €100 , I think because less than 10% over weight, no forced unloading ,paid fine then sent on our way.

If you are driving bellow 2% overweight, it could be 300-400€.
Above 2% is more € and your vehicle could be immobilised.
