Beginners Guide To Habitation Checks

Never had one, even damp checks are a waste of time on ours because it's either garaged or in Spain. Van's over 8 years old now, must have saved a right wedge 🙂

Never had one,

Nor me, but then I've never been threatened by a maker to have the warranty checks or have a guarantee/warantee void.

Damp Happens. But if its caught early then it can be put right quickly at minimal cost, and save many thousands in remedial work when opposed to being caught far too late.

It's in the makers/dealers best interest to find it early and fix it.

A damp check takes a few minutes. In my opinion makers and dealers should offer these for free all the time they have a warranty on the vehicle. If you don't turn up for your check, then the warranty is void. Making a user pay for the checks on their workmanship is great for them. When they do have to fix one, it costs them nothing; all those suckers who have paid every year foot the bill.
