Been fitting my maxxfan today. It's stuck down and I have ran my wires to the nearest source. They are a bit too short so I will be figuring out how to fix that later.

But I wired them in to a light just to see if it was working and it's constantly beeping. Anyone know why?

Checked polarity and it's ok. Thought maybe low voltage but I had 12.2v when checking with the meter and I am plugged in now and it's making no difference.

The vent was open (as per the instructions when fitting) and the vent is automatically closing when powered but when it is fully closed it starts beeping again.

Oh well seems the fan is too gutsy to run of a lighting circuit. I put a meter to the circuit whilst plugged in and got over 13v so tried the fan again and it is just beeping. Checked voltage and it was down to 4 or 5v at the circuit.

So I am presuming I'll need to run a new cable from the battery just for the fan. I can't think of anything else I can wire in to to get the kind of power it apparently needs.

Erse.
