For info.
Last night the fridge started to beep. The door was fully closed. It was set to gas.
Checked the gas all OK. We are on a spanish propane bottle connected to our gaslow fill point. A new full bottle.
The control panel was unresponsive.
Gas turned off intermttantly with the beeps and restarting, flame popping
Disconnected the panel and cleaned the circuit board with a proprietary electrical contact spray . Still beeped and no response on the controls but all lit up.
Switched to mains electric and still beeped. Controls unresponsive
Checked the door switch .reset it. still beeped.
Recleaned the circuit board...still beeped intermittently. No particular pattern. Random beeps. Now on ehu.
Freezer at -15c but still beeps.
A sleepless night. Beeping randomly every 10 to 15 mins all night But freezer still at -15.c.
In the morning an odd beep. Cleaned out the burner with a compressed air can spray and tried the gas setting. Control panel immediately switched on resetting to gas. no beeps. It's been going all day as though nothing was ever wrong with the fridge. A mystery.
The above is just for info. Fridge is now working fine.no beeps and the control panel fully responsive.
I put it down to condensation as the control panel is above the fridge door. Worst position.
Rant over. (y) apologies for the long post.

You might also want to check the heavy 12v spade connections to the rear circuit board. These are prone to corroding and becoming loose and causing random beeps and odd behaviour even when on gas or EHU

You need some PCB laquer Jim dry it then spray it, we had a condensation problem on our RMDT some time back and the spray cured it permanently 👍 I have some but at home

I would second both the above as the 85xx series are prone to both issues. My own one the rear pcb board had edge connectors so lose they had arked that much they melted the board strip. Had to solder the 240v wires direct to the board in the end.
Swapped for a compressor after that.

Thanks Steve. Mick offered me some
I was reluctant to disconnect it again as its working OK at the mo.. Maybe do it this evening when it's a bit cooler. (y)
