Been to mull

Spent some time on Mull years ago, fantastic scenery.

Love the Isle of Mull.

Love Scotland in the autumn and Mull is beautiful.

Used to go every October for the Isle of Mull Rally. Always stayed an extra week or so. Sometimes got the ferry out to Coll and Tiree. Cycled the Hebrides. Hiked the west coast of Scotland. Brilliant.

Hi Phil,
Great to see you enjoyed Mull, October or May are the best months to go, no midges and less traffic. If you go during school holidays its a circular island road convoy ;)

Second weekend in October 2023 is the Isle of Mull Rally. The island will be full the week before and a few days after. You may be able to hang on to the railings in Tobermory and hope the sea doesn't get too rough .

Did not realise how influential Lancashire rally group have been in developing it.

Luckily we can now avoid school holidays whoop whoop.

We went years ago on a bike (cycling) touring trip. It rained as we got there. Stayed in a BnB at Tobermory, rode to the ferry the next day in pi$$ing rain, got changed on the ferry and got soaked to the skin again at the other side. Wouldn't entertain us in BnB's so we had to camp, AND my sleeping bag was wet! We went to eat at a nearby hotel whilst the camping warden tumble dried it for me.

Not a good impression, Iona, though was a totally different experience. Camped on a beach (for 50p) in warm sun 😊.

I did say it was years ago, certainly pre motorhoming in 1994.

Looks a great place to visit, but did I seea sign saying no HGV's, that counts us out I am afraid, our van comes under PHGV. :frowny::tmi:

Did you, I am a phgv, oops have I broken the law ? You can go on mull as there are several trucks and buses, delivering all over the island.

You could visit our castle and have word our Laird ---- Lachlan Maclean.

I live on mull and we have a PHGV which we use regularly both on and off the island so I can assure you that they are allowed 😊 obviously common sense required as some parts aren't suitable but most of the island is accessible. Definitely easier at this time of year!!
