I'm in the process of ordering new gas struts for my van bed from SGS Eng. but would appreciate any suggestions on who to ask to fit them please.

Just be sure to buy the correct pressure rating

I bought from their web site, couldn’t easily read the pressure on mine in situ, only after fitting did I find I had bought way too low , think I got 1800 and needed 2400 from memory, the under rated arms were no better than the failed ones. They were listed as Hymer bed struts and the only ones they had then

Sorry I can’t help with who to fit, had a massive funster favour fitting mine (twice) 🙄🤔

Strangely I had to replace the bed struts not long after we bought our van (12 years ago) but had no problems since!

It's just a matter of undoing a few mounting screws, after propping up the bed frame of course, assuming you've got the right screwdriver - mine were star fittings!

The struts are fairly easy to change but get the bed right up into the roof space, as far up as it will go.

I detailed a little in this thread.
