Has anyone got any knowledge on adding in a bed above the drivers/passenger seats. I have had a look around and it seems this needs to be done at factory level when on the production line, is that correct or can you retrospectively fit a bed? Its an Arto 88.

I can't think of anyway you can add a 'normal' drop down bed due to all the structural work that would need doing for the raising/lowering gubbings.

Are you wanting something for adults or kids?

Can you get internal panels off above the door and window on each side front cab ? This would give you access to the bits that you need to fix the bed to - probably 😉

I would think it could be done at N&B in Polch but the cost would be eye watering

More adults. Thanks Minxy, from what I research you are spot on.
Hammocks? :giggle:

Seriously, do you have a photo of the front cab area so we can see what's there as we may be able to come up with some suggestions.

We did make a single mattress for a previous van. It fitted across the front seats but was for a teenager.

There’s a German brand that make them much better than the one i mackerelled together but they were quite a few $$$ and we knew it was only a mid-term solution.

It’s normally the exact opposite that people do, ie, want to have cupboards instead of the drop-down for more space.

You’d be better flogging it and buying one with a cab bed.
On that length MH you are right, very unusual.

Exactly!! I really wish I had cupboards instead of a bed, but when you buy used you don’t have much option, that said the previous owner got most of the other options right👌🏼

Are you sitting down...

Dear Mr. Crazy

it is very difficult to do this job. The price is about 20000€. First time to do this is in june 2025.

I think that is a, not interested in doing it sort of price. They are probably not sure what they might encounter, so quote a big price as a polite way of telling you to buxxer off.

I think most of those vans have the drop down bed so I would be surprised if the structure needed to support it is not there as standard. Only way to find out is to strip one side carefully and see what you find.

That did cross my mind on the price.

From what I have seen i think you are spot on, bit to big @8.8M not to have it.
