Just ending a 3-day stay in the New Forest (Brrrr!) and visit to the National Motor Museum - Beaulieu. Or Bewley as some call it Got a pretty good discount via the C&MC. (I only joined that club recently because they have a CL just up the road from sister-in-law in Nottingham- promise ).

On scanning their current Mag’, I noticed a voucher for attractions including the above; with a third off the entrance price. The full ‘senior’ price is £47.50 for two persons. With the C&MC discount, we paid £31.66 for two persons a discount of £15.84 Not bad eh? (read the T’s & C’s for dates)

Can thoroughly recommend this place as it has something for everyone. Cars and M/cycles for those that like ‘em, a Top Gear presentation, a Monorail ride, old bus ride and x-box driving for the kids, a Stately Home of the Montague family and old Abbey for the culture-vultures. Finally lovely lakeside walks and a decent (though expensive) caff for a meal or a drink and slice of Joe Blake.
AND .........
We never got around it all, so came back for a second day. If you return within 6 days you get FREE entry!

AND (2) The venu actually mentions Motorhomes on its parking signage!!!

Sounds like you could have a great couple of days out there, thanks

We were in conversation with an old lady in France (at Pont Canal du Briare) who was asking where we had visited on our holiday. Despite our best efforts, she couldn’t recognise our pronunciation of Beaulieu (Bewley) sur Dordogne.

It was only when we returned to Beaulieu sur Dordogne the following year that we discovered it should be pronounced Bow-Lee-O sur Dordogne (as in Beau (Bow) Geste). Her difficulty in understanding us all made sense then!

Thank you for the info. - have posted it on the thread for those interested in a trip to Beaulieu whilst at Lymington Rally (y)

When we exit the EU it might just be called "Beautiful place"
bit like that other castle "Beautiful View" pronounced " Beaver"

Another great place to visit is Buckler’s Hard where Navy ships were built many many years ago. Mike

Occasionally on TV when I was little they would mention Beauvoir and occasionally the Beauvoir Hunt. (which wasn't non PC way back then)

I was terribly confused - I'd always been told that Hunts chased foxes over fields etc, and never even realised Beavers were a UK indigenous species!

Know about Bucklers Hard & the river trip (y) but not sure how much motorhome parking is there? It will be peak season too!

There is a coach park but they do say to email if you have any questions. We were there pre-Moho and in the car. Mike

Yes, that Belvoir does cause some confusion!
