BBC iplayer - no longer able to download to computer. (1 Viewer)

I use my laptop as a 'TV' in my motorhome. Big Screen, portable, can download stuff, watch on catch up or stream live via data from iplayer, ITVX, channel 4, My 5 etc. Works for me.

However to save data I often download stuff off BBC iplayer in advance.

Sadly this is no longer possible. I just went to do this and they have discontinued the iplayer download app on PC (and I assume Mac). BBC say lack make it not worth supporting any more. I doubt it costs as much as Gary Lineker does!

Still available via tablets/phones but disappointingly no longer not computer.

Yes - do that too but everything you want is not necessarily available - especially some BBC documentaries or similar. Also I do feel safer downloading from BBC than from some dodgy sites!

Don't use dodgy sites ... I use only 2 aggregators, not had an issue in the last 4 years, thousands of files.

Its not been working for a while now. Still works on android so we just use that now.

VXman check out getiplayer.
Have used it for years and still works.
There are Windows and Linux versions but don't know about Mac as don't use that.
