Has anyone been to the Bay of Roses in Spain in April?
We are thinking about heading there at Easter, and would like anyones
experiences of whether much is open that early in the year and what
weather to expect?

I have a few times to the L’escala area. I think it’s a bit too far North for Easter. More recently we have headed down near Tarragona and it’s a good bit warmer. It will be warmer still down towards Benidorm.

Easter is late march this year, weather not really that warm till a bit later. It's a windy spot as well. Depends on what you want or expect. We used to do it a few years ago with grandkids got lots of pictures of them playing in their coats. :D

We have stayed in Camping Joncar Mar but not over Easter, site is within easy walk of Roses town, pitches OK, site popular with the French, but at Easter the prices will probable increase as Easter is a big holiday for the Spanish, but a nice little town.

Will be very very busy with Spanish campers,,its their first big outing of the year,,BUSBY,,

We stayed near L`escala last August and liked the area.We only have a couple of weeks so going more south is not an option.Thats the beauty of motorhomes, we can chase the sun!

Thanks,so will need to book a site perhaps. But that takes the flexibility away from us as we never book anywhere.

It’s about 200 miles south, but worth it I think

We are thinking of visiting Roses in May. Camping Salata is in the ACSI book at 19€ for 2 adults and pitch incl EHU. The period 29/3 - 1/4 (easter) is excluded from these rates. Looking on their website https://www.campingsalata.com/en the ACSI rate appears to be a saving of at least 4€ per night on their normal rates. You may be able to split the charges if you are going to stay through the easter period. (assuming you have the acsi card)

We visited Roses last year in March, tourist office told us we could park up anywhere a car could park so we stayed a few nights on the road by the beach.

Signs in the town said it is fine to park anywhere except during July & August.

We were on a flying visit as on the way to Cambrils, nice town though, there's a parking bay on your right as you come in to the town centre where mohos park, a greenish triangular area where the old fellas gather to play petanque, it's a 2 minute walk to the beach from there.

Look out for the "Mare's on the chairs" once you hit the coast road to Roses, quite an abundance of them when we visited.

Have a nice trip.

Agree with Chris, the Costa Brava can have a cloud covering where 200 miles south will be clear..
