HYMER B584 2002
I always plugged in when I get home and leave it plugged in until we go away again.
Is this damaging the batteries on
My Hymer B584 2002?

Depends on the type of charger fitted.
You probably have a smart charger which varies its output depending on the state of charge.
Old analogue chargers simply stayed at one rate of charge and could overcharge the battery.
Better to switch on the charger/connect hookup every week or so for a few hours

Aslong as your vehicle is fitted with a smart charger it should maintain it ok. However, personally (before I got my solar panel) I could leave it plugged in for a few days and then take it out for a week or two as a decent battery should not need constant maintenance.

I used to do just that. It's so much easier just to "do and forget".
I don't think that modern chargers do any (much) harm.
Nowadays, I try to give it a charge for 24hrs at the start of each month.
If you had Lithium (with BatteryMaster to the starter/cab battery) you shouldn't need to hook-up between trips.

I have recently had my ebl99 serviced with A and N Caravans, and Martin who serviced it,,advises not leaving them plugged in for long periods. Here is a quote from my email.

The components we replaced tend to fail over a long period if the vehicle is left plugged in for more than a month without it being used. I suspect that this has been the case in the past and that the components just gave up. The EBL99 is of the older 16Amp version so fatigue is likely.
My moho is a hymer b574 2002 so probably has the ebl99 fitted.

I meant to add, while maybe not harming your battery, you can do harm to the ebl99 unit👍
