The van is in my workshop hooked up on two timers for battery charging. The starter battery charges eight to eight on Sundays and Wednesdays via a smart charger directly to the battery. The habitation batteries (two lead acid 100 amp/hrs.) charge via the sergeant system from the normal hook up on Saturdays and Tuesdays eight to eight. After a fairly short time the little red light in the sergeant controller turns to green which I take it as a trickle charge.

The photo is for the habitation battery taken on a Sunday i.e one day after being charged.

Would you expect the battery percentage to be higher than in the photo or are they ( three years old) trying to tell me something?

That looks like one of the BM NASA battery monitors. I've got the BM2 and the percentage sometimes does that, it's just a discrepancy between what It thinks is fully charged, and what the charger thinks is fully charged... When out on site it always behaves, quite often it likes to show 104% when the solar charger is finishing off... Maybe it's showing surface charge, who knows 😊

I have noticed it showing over 100% on solar once or twice now you mention it. Maybe over fixating on the numbers…..

12.8v is considered Full for a standard lead. 12.7v acceptable as there may be a drop between battery and display???

12.7 is quite normal while you have something light switched on, flick the odd appliance on and it will drop more, then recover a little after an hour or so to the true reading

My gel battery often reads high all evening, like 12.9v typically 🤔 then drops later on to the more usual 12.5

Thanks to all who have taken the time to reply and help dispel the electro paranoia!
