Hi all
The battery in my 2.2 diesel car has failed after many years and I have purchased an Exide battery to replace it.
in talking to the shop lad, it turns out that the same model battery would be fine as a starter battery for my campervan as well.
The Yuasa starter battery in the camper is 3/4 years old.
My question is should I put the new battery in the camper and the older battery in the car?
My reasoning is (maybe flawed) that the battery in the car would be used and charged most days whereas the camper battery is used a lot less frequently.
I know nothing is absolute but I am asking for opinions

You are relying on the fact that the "shop lad" knows his stuff.

I would leave things as they are.

In our case, the car battery is wet lead acid, but the camper is AGM. Probably does not apply in your case, but why risk it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Both batteries are lead/acid.
I suppose I'm asking which battery would have the hardest life.
Used/charged 7 days a week or once/twice a month and used/charged for a few days.

The MH battery will have the harder life. Lead acid batteries like to be fully charged so the car battery will have the easier time.

Depends of lots of factors for the motorhome. Ours is fully charged.
Yours may be and that's fine, but, not everyone uses the motorhome equally the same. Some go to work, some put them in storage, and some have limited time access due to distance time etc.
The OP has a valid point, and I would swop if they are same CCA , Ah and size.
