My battery or chargef seems to be acting a bit odd. I have a 150ah lead carbon battery. Thd label on it says charger voltage 14.7v-14.9 v. I'm using the Nordelectronica charger unit set on Pb which the data sheet says I 14.7v on bulk charge.
Today I plugged in the ehu. The Adria panel was showing charging at 5 amps and the battery voltage was 14.6v I thought that seemed fine. 3 hours later I checked and the charging current had gone up to 10 amps and the battery was warm to the touch.
Another hour later it has gone down to 1 amp charging and sitting at 13.7v presumably now in float state.
My question is why would the charging Amps go up and not drop as it got near full and is it normal for the battery to get warm?
