We have recently had a small lithium conversion done by Vanbitz which includes a BM.
Prior to this the starter battery was successfully maintained by a 20 watt votronic panel with integral PWM controller.
I appreciate what the BM does but is there any advantage/disadvantage/potential for damage by still connecting the solar when in storage or in use.

Simple answer no problem.
The solar will keep the leisure battery charged and the Battery Master will keep the starter battery charged from the leisure battery.
I've had this system running perfectly for 3 years now.

Battery Master is a brand itself? or are there different options available?
Ok, I've done my research. Does anyone use the Votronic standby charger PRO? (Suitable for LiFePo4 as the input side)

I have a low power B2B wired to charge the starter battery from the leisure battery.

Aranged so that it is active when the engine is NOT running. Keeps the lead acid starter battery fully charged.

There are a number of B2B Chargers with mppt solar controller that also maintain the starter battery and have Bluetooth monitoring for both lb & SB..

Interesting comments. We have 100w solar and two 105ah lithium plus the BM.
So probably don't need to use the small panel direct to starter battery.
The question really was,
is there any benefit in using it in addition to BM and can it damage anything.
