hi Eddie bought a battery master today, my leisure battery is a ( fogstar 280 ah ) it is under the seating area in the rear, I need to run a cable from there to my starter battery under the bonnet, what size cable would you recommend ? and would it be wise to add a fuse at either end ?
The BM transfers less than 2A so even a 1.5mm cable would be ok for a few meters.hi Eddie bought a battery master today, my leisure battery is a ( fogstar 280 ah ) it is under the seating area in the rear, I need to run a cable from there to my starter battery under the bonnet, what size cable would you recommend ? and would it be wise to add a fuse at either end ?

I’d connect it at the split charge relay to make life simplehi Eddie bought a battery master today, my leisure battery is a ( fogstar 280 ah ) it is under the seating area in the rear, I need to run a cable from there to my starter battery under the bonnet, what size cable would you recommend ? and would it be wise to add a fuse at either end ?

As others have said, it's probably easier to wire it to a starter battery connection that's on a split charge relay or the 12V distribution box. However if you do end up running a wire all the way to the starter battery, you should put a fuse on the starter battery end, near the starter battery. A small fuse, 5A or 3A, will be quite adequate.and would it be wise to add a fuse at either end ?
i decided to remove the passenger seat today, i connected the battery master via the split charge relay, i must say it was considerably easier than running a length of cable from the leisure battery to the engine bay on my back or trying to route it under the floor or trims. looks a lot neater too, thanks to all who shared the adviceAs others have said, it's probably easier to wire it to a starter battery connection that's on a split charge relay or the 12V distribution box.
