Hi All.

I have a tracker on the van that also gives me the engine battery reading. I occasionally check the voltage and it’s normally between 12.7 and 13.5 volts.

Checked today and the reading is 14 volts is normal/high? I have two gel leisure batteries fitted around 18 months ago one solar panel with battery master.

The van is not at home but if there is a potential issue then I’ll drive over and check it out.

Thanks in advance.

The 14V probably means the battery is getting a boost from your solar panel via the gel batteries and battery master. Check the voltage at about 10pm, a few hours after dark, to get a proper reading.

Will do thanks.
I understand how it works just never seen It at 14 volts before.

Appreciate the advice thank you👍

At rest your battery after sitting a while with no drain or no charge will be around 12.6-12
8 for a good 12v lead battery..(12.8 is full)

When being charged by any source expect 13.something
And as high as 14.4 or so

14V could be due to it having been stolen and somebody driving it off into the distance - or it might just be your solar panels topping it up :ROFLMAO:

As said .If it was a nice sunny day and your van is in full sun the solar charger will charge at 14 plus volts at max input.
If you check it again when it dark your battery will be off charge and hopefully reading 12.7 to 12.8 volts.
