For you guys who are a lot cleverer than me, probably up Lenny's street! The ECU on my Boxer, 14 reg has just been replaced and has gone up the creek again. It was suggested to me that a faulty battery may be the cause. My local garage tested said battery and attached photo is the result after a check at running engine at 2500 rpm for 5 seconds. After leaving engine for 10 minutes they checked the battery again ( twice) and report read Good Battery. I don't want to buy a new vehicle battery for no reason but on other hand I don't want to buy another ECU to have that cocked up! Any ideas please?

Did the replacement have a warranty?

Which ECU?
If its the airbag ECU the story about low battery causing the problem is out about by the dodgy ECU repairers I'm not convinced.

If it's the Airbag ECU has it been repaired or replaced?

As for you battery it's lost 30% of it capacity so its worth replacing.

Thanks Lenny, it's the airbag ECU that was supposed to be repaired. I'm aware of your feelings re repairs and it looks as if you are right. Thanks for pointing out about the battery.

Bit the bullet and get a genuine new ECU at least you get a warranty with it.

And another earth connection to the airbag ecu won't go amiss either. Just make sure you clean the paint off where you connect it (y)
