Looking at the Cherwell Council web site, parking overnight is allowed at any time. However, that is Parking not Habitation. The Cherwell parking order contains the condition
Except with the written authority of the Council, no person shall use a vehicle, or anything towed by a vehicle while it is in a parking place, for camping, eating, sleeping or other domestic purposes or as a place of habitation.
Best make another check before risking a ticket.

serious question...how do they define eating...does that include sarnies you have made, bag of chips you've bought etc?? or do they really meaning cooking?

All those types of prohibition are to prevent people using car parks as a camp site. The wording tends to be extensive to try to cover everything. It's probably unlikely that somebody who just parked up for a short while and had a lunchtime sandwich/bag of chips would be ticketed.

Stick to council, not private, car parks then. They don't have targets
