Just a note of warning/advice.

It's great that Northumberland CC have opened up three car parks to stay overnight for £12. You just need to be aware that in order to pay only £12 you will need to arrive after 6 and leave before 8am.

Minimum parking charge is £6.50 so arrive before and leave after and the night will have cost you at least £25.

TBH thuogh, having stayed in that car park for a day in my car (to watch the cricket under the castle), I would say sometimes that money would be well spent to spend the day in the area. Eating a ice cream, drinking a drink, whilst watching the local Cricket club is a great way to while away a warm day.

Unless you know anywhere cheaper around there that also accepts MH's for daytime parking?

It's not ANPR though, we chanced it arriving about 4pm for our pre booked overnight, we were in the van so watched for parking attendants. Paid the extra for the next day as we went to the castle. I think the actual castle parking was a couple of quid cheaper but didn't bother moving.

Stayed last night at Beadnell- same deal £12 but Indid arrive after 6, walked the dogs in the beaach at 7am and away by 8am.

With the dogs, actually a better spot than the castle as straight into the beach. Also a pizza takeaway right there in the car park.

Can you get your eyes tested there, the same as Barnard castle? Asking for the next politician that needs one

Unless it's changed this year, Amble has a similar setup but it's free out of the overnight hours.

I seem to remember we stayed in the Castle car park for the day, website says £5, and then, once we had decided to stay the night, we moved to the council one.
Enjoyed both the cricket and croquet matches on the green and also the ice cream!
