Hi

When it comes to topping up our on-board water tank using the official Whale hose. It takes an eternity.

Any thought as to what could be causing this or is it a known issue.

Thanks in advance.

I think there's 2 speeds of the pumps from what I read when I got mine, I use the whale plugin that the pump goes in the aquaroll and it fills about 10 litre a minute I think?

Mines a 2019 and goes direct through the whale without pump when topping up fresh water tank, But one of the problems is a kink after the whale which is under the seat in the lounge.

1 year and a bit
Please elaborate, what’s a proper filler?
We sick a hose pipe directly in the tank, bit of a pain though as you have to lift the carpet to get at the hatch.

Like what all Motorhomes have apart from Bailey.
A few options here.

Remove the non return valve which will speed up filling considerably. Do not overfill the tank.

This system is quite good as it allows for filling from an Aquaroll using a 12v pump (generally not supplied with the van) when you are on-site and don't want to keep moving the van to fill up.

I use mine with aquaroll, will removing that non return cause a problem with filling though? ie when mine shows 100% full on the panel inside it automatically stops. Would removing that valve stop that happening I wonder?

With or without the non return valve filling will not stop automatically when using "fill Tank" but will give you an indication of how filling is going. "fill tank" works with your Aquaroll Pump filling because it provides the 12v necessary to operate the pump at the socket. However this will only switch off the external pump when the "fill tank" indicator reaches 100%. So two things to be aware of - 1. when filling from a tap directly the water will overflow from the tank when full near the driver's side rear wheel. Give this your full attention as this can pressurise the tank and cause issues. 2. If the first Aquaroll does not fill the tank the pump will run dry "fill tank" not at 100% so listen for a change in the noise the pump makes when run dry and cancel "fill tank".
You may have noticed the tank fills quicker with the external pump/Aquaroll. That is because the external pump does not have that non return valve fitted.

Once you get used to all the above it really is not a bad system (no watering cans etc.).

Bailey use a stupid out dated tugger system expecting everyone to use campsite fully serviced pitches. Fit a normal MOTORHOME filler. The shouting and rant is not aimed at you, but Bailey themselves. Motorhomers have moved on from the 1970's.

I've never had to use a fully serviced pitch?

Hi Paul,

Not meant to offend or belittle anyone. Tried to understand Bailey mindset when I had my 2012 740SE. It appeared to be a caravan with a Peugeot cab bolted to it. I had it for five years and modified to how I expected a motorhome to be. Fast fill and fast emptying. If I had not wanted to have a garage, I would still have it.
