enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
hi, cab anyone recommend an integrated/built in sat nav for an approach autograph. we are thinking of buying an approach but the one we looked at only seemed to have radio etc built in

Buy a decent seperate SatNav with traffic information and lifetime maps and mount it so that you can see it easily. Never a fan of built in units.

I have a pioneer satnav that came with my Autograph has caused me more stress than help,I would buy a decent one that can be removed and updated regularly, apart from this I love the van.enjoy .

VanBitz fitted a Blaupunkt unit in my AA765. Has DAB +, hands free phone, sat nav (updatable), CD, rear twin camera and the ability to stream music or radio. Very pleased with it.

sounds good, but I have just found out yesterday the new (to me) van doesn't have a reversing camera, though it does have reversing sensors.

To be honest I rarely use the camera I get the wife to guide me back ?

32 years in the fire brigade taught me NEVER TO REVERSE UNLESS SOMEONE IS WATCHING YOU BACK !!

Our Bailey 620 Approach came with an Alpine INE-S900R Advanced Navi Station radio/CD/Satnav. The Satnav is updateable but I've never done it as I use a stand alone Garmin Satnav with lifetime (not sure whose) map updates.

thanks. when I took it for a test drive I noticed its a single din radio in a double din space, but it looks to have a shiny gloss black surround/facia. I would obviously want to keep the dash looking just as good, so was hoping someone would point me to a suitable alternative

This is what our looks like:

I'll have a look through our photos to see if we have one showing the unit. If not, I will take a picture of it tomorrow or Thursday (as the van is in storage). But it does look as if it belongs to the dash.
I'm very happy with it in terms of all its functions, hands free, blue tooth etc.
By the way, the edges are rounded shiny black plastic.

looks good from what I can see. does it have a rear view camera facility? what make and model please? I really appreciate you and the others responding to help me out !!!

Sorry about the quality of the photo. When you enlarge it to look at the unit, it's quite blurred. When you engage reverse, the screen switches to the rear view camera and there is a grid that comes up on the screen with red, orange and green traffic cone symbols that show you how far you are from any rear obstructions. Obviously, the red cones are closest to the obstruction. It works very well. When driving, you can have the screen show the radio stations, the sat nav or even a DVD though I've never tried with the DVD. I imagine it would be dangerous and illegal to drive with a DVD playing.
The make and model are: Alpine INE-S900R.

Unusual, I thought they all did? I am looking at one now with a camera.

daft question - where would it be (and i know it will be on the back lol) - it isnt where i would expect to see it above the rear high level brake light - perhaps i need to check properly when i pick it up !!

perhaps the original owner had the reversing sensors instead of the reversing camera?

Yes, that's how it looks. We didn't fit it. The previous owner had it fitted.
Nice looking van by the way. Ours looks very old fashioned. Well it is 2012. ;)
