History first:
So in December 2024 we become the proud owners of a 6 month old Bailey Alora, which is just perfect for our needs.
Purchased through a dealer in Gloucester and they were excellent all round.
We had a good week away for New Year and then brought it back to sit on the drive ready for our 2nd trip.
A readable dusting of snow sat on it soon after arriving home which thawed a few days later....thats when the electric issues started.
We found various lights were coming on of their own accord at random times (side light/s, DRL/s, rear side light/s, head light/s) sometimes individually sometimes more than one and sometimes switching on and off. Locking the motorhome reset everything.
I done some internet digging and all I could find pertaining to random faults on Ford was excessive condensation build up on the inside of the windscreen that run into the body control module. We did have some mild windscreen condensation on our trip away but not what I'd call excessive so I was hoping it wasn't that.
I checked in the engine compartment, finding that screen gully was allowing a significant amount of drips from the thaw to fall onto a loom plug (common I understand in other models too). I dried it thoroughly and covered it over with a temporary 'shoot' - The lights issue lessened but continued for a day but then stopped completely.
We have since had a reasonable amount of rain and the fault hasn't come back (the loom plug is dry too).
Obviously we do have Ford/Bailey Warranty and the first sign of the fault returning will mean we'll be calling upon this to be dealt with, but the main reason for this post is to get some info out there, as the Alora is relatively new and it might be handy for others.
