I know its a bit early but i need reassurance. My plan is to leave Ayamonte 5th march and head to Mertola for the night. There seems to be a nice Aire next to the river. Then up to Evora for a few days on a site. Then sadly El Ferry. Anybody stopped at either locations advice welcomed. Mrs W has heard some bad vibes

The new Aire at Evora is very convienant for the two, need to get their early tends to be full by evening. First time we stopped there it hadn't been open long and wasn't on the apps we were the only ones there. Following year it was in Camper Contact and was rammed but spaces are a good size.

A tree fell on my van on the Evora campsite, but did no damage!! Gave me a fright though and filled the van with leaves!!

From Evora you could go to Caceres in Spain. Amazing campsite, every pitch has its own washroom with shower & Loo. Town is also lovely and good bus from site

At Mertola there is a large car park opposite the fire station on the N122 that you can park in. We haven’t stayed overnight but I believe others have. It’s handy enough to explore the town from and check out other parking options.
