Awning stuck!

Hi,

The non winding end of our awning is stuck/jammed and won’t ‘pop out’ on the initial couple of winds. We’ve been away for 5 weeks and not used it until now. If I’m honest last October it might have shown a minor reluctance but I just put it down to the cold.

So before I introduce the big screwdriver I wondered if the collected knowledge on here might be able to suggest a solution?

We are in Morocco for another 8 weeks or so will need the awning. Obviously if anyone can suggest a place in Morocco that might be able to help that would be great.

Ours has a similar resistance (or did see my damage thread ) I found by winding tightly and trying again several times sometimes it did eventually go

Also we h carry a step up and I can just reach the awning from that , with Bev unwinding I gave mine a slight lift which helped, guess same could be done with a long pole as well.

It might prove more of an issue if it sticks whilst out!! Can you purchase a folding parasol en route?

David, thanks for that. I was being a bit timid earlier, your slight lift ending up being more of a shove but freed it. Lubed up now working fine, let the sun shine.

Its a wonder what a bit of Lube can do. I think plenty of exercise may be called for to spread the lube.
