i was looking at getting a kampa rally 390 awning for my motorhome but the rail height of my fiamma f45 is too low, i was wondering if there would be a way round this issue or if anybody here knows of a similar sized awning that can attach to a rail height of 225-227 cm.
the kampa rally 390 needs the rail height to be 235-250cm.
the motorhome we have is an old kontiki 640L
i've spent the last couple of hours looking for alternatives but no joy so thought i'd ask here as there's bound to be someone here that has encountered this issue.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
cheers

Buy a quest popup stand alone
There's one in the classifieds or about £300 for a new 1

cheers for the suggestions, will check them out later though i think the popup standalone one won't be an option as we want it to be connected to the van to help stop our dog from doing a houdini act.

They do a tall version as well, I've got one!
how do you rate it? we have a dog so want something we can close up but also in warm weather will want to open parts and maybe use a windbreak to keep muttley from going walkabout

Well tongue in cheek perhaps a Hydraulic levelling system will give a bit extra height to your van😬😉😂
i did think of driving round with a few blocks of wood tbh but it will become a pain in the arse trying to use levelling ramps on top of blocks of wood. just a bit of a pisser that the awning rail is 4 inches too low for the majority of awnings.

Have you thought about a wide connecting strip or fixing an awning rail to the top of the wind out?
I fitted one to the underside of our wind out as I found it to difficult to close it with the Kampa connected to it😊🤔

We've just bought an Outdoor Revolution Cayman, ours is poled but you may be able to get air ones.
They are driveway and looks an easy set up, and they go up to 300 odd in height.
They're currently on sale at the moment, too

i thought about putting an awning rail above my wind out awning but that would mean any awning i then get has to be over 4 metres wide so i can get the sides of it past the wind out awning.
i did a full rebuild on this van and wish i'd checked all this out earlier as i would have refitted the awning a bit higher that it was, but needless to say i stuck it back in its previous position and i don't feel in the mood to start tearing into the van again as i've only just started to use it after 1½ years of it being in bits.

It's a really nice bit of kit but you would have to have something on the van side to stop the dog from going under the van. We only use ours for an extra bedroom if one of our grown up kids join us. It's based on a Vango Kela 5 with a couple of minor differences but still made for Amazon by Vango.

i won't have to worry about her getting under the van, she's too big to try that.
i think i'm gonna try sticking an awning rail on the top of our wind out awning, it will give us more options as my missus really likes the kampa rally awning.

I stuck C-section to the underside of our wind-out using 3M VHB double-sided tape, and it held fast for the 3 years that we owned our last ‘van……
