Hi we had caravans for years and always had Isabella awning carpets. Just come back from Spain and saw quite a few Royal carpets. Just thought i would put it out there to see your views :drinks:

I have just bought one of these awning carpets, 2.5 x 3.5 for £22.99 including delivery, and comes in a bag for packing away after use. (y)

Two on Tour Thanks for the link. Is it very heavy? Is the bag waterproof to stop it leaking?

The 2.5 x 3.5 one we have weighs a little under 2kg (1.8kg) in the clear plastic zipped bag.
Waterproof, yet to tell, maybe a bit if leakage via the zip if the mat is quite wet.
Size in the bag is 430mm x 350mm x 80mm

Like you I have an Isabella. Not cheap but it’s wearing well and I do like the feel of it under bare feet (currently stood on it) 😎

I wonder who bought out the guy who had a unit at Highbridge selling awning matting?
It was a very successful business and it was sold as transferable.

I'm after a new awning mat myself. It seems like Morrocan matting, based in Llanelli are no longer trading. I've tried to contact them but no luck.
I'm after a 6m x 2.4 mat.

Just a tad..
We have used the plastic Morocan carpet’s for many years. They are lightweight and survive ill treatment in our garage. Available at Motorhome shows.

Ours is looking a tad sun and wear damaged now. Anyone got a supply source for these please as we need to replace? ✔️

We live near Llanelli and his unit is on the industrial estate where our tip is. I will pop in and see if he is still selling them.
They used to have a carpet shop in the indoor market and it was his parents who sold the matts at the shows. They sold the carpet shop but still kept the unit I think.
The quality of the matts did drop about 7 years ago. Flimsy and not as hard wearing.

We had one but gave it to our daughter and have used one like two on tours above very successfully for years.

Always a little bit concerned about floor coverings on grass - many campsites don't like groundsheets for instance, as prolonged use damages it and of course looks unsightly for the next camper.
We have a (genuine) Moroccan mat but don't always use it, depends on what type of surface we're pitched on. If it's properly cut grass we just use one of those rubber mats with holes at the hab door for wiping feet. Other surfaces, depends on how long we're staying. We're also not too concerned about taking shoes off etc., the original carpets (2007) having survived pretty well. Of course having a dog changes attitudes somewhat...............!

The last Moroccan mat we bought from one of the shows was garbage and only lasted a couple of years, complained to the seller at a show and was not interested.
Now have the Kampa ones which fit their awnings and they are very good, also they are good over grass as they don’t kill it off.

Make sure you buy a breathable mat and not the type with a waterproof backing. If you are staying on a grass site for a few days, please lift the mat at some point to avoid killing the grass.

We were looking at mats today, i managed to burn ours, last week, several holes but it was about 8 years old it is one like Two on Tour found it awkward to clean, but don't have a power washer.
We also have one of the plastic Moroccan style mats, much lighter, easy to clean but not very eco friendly.
Was looking for a breathable mat but didn't see any.
