I should be most grateful if anyone can explain how I activate the booster aerial power for my Avtex Smart TV. W195TS The manual doesn’t show it nor the Avtex web site!

What type of aerial booster do you have? they usually run off 12v.

Like most modern TVs, you most likely have to go into settings and scroll through, until you find the Signal Booster On/Off button.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Avtex ST-HILARION 3000 It say refer to manual and manual doesn’t make any reference to aerial!

That's the aerial.

It may need power from the TV so you need to look there. What is your TV?

Edit: I reread to see the TV, will have a look...

MENU - GENERAL - ADDITIONAL SETTINGS

Does that work?

I believe you might be right! It seems that manual’s need to be read before sending them out.

Called Avtex this morning! Their smart TV’s do not support the STH3000! Even though their website says they do! For smart TV you should get the STH 4000. We know about that, but haven’t told our dealers yet!
It seems you can’t make it up. What a shame they think so little of their customers not to give the right information!

I’ve now turned the antenna on on our old Avtex tv, but am now wondering what difference it makes, as we have never had it switched on in the 12 years we’ve had the tv! Does it help it pick up channels better? Can’t test it at the moment, because we are using the Firestick, so just wondering?

It is for power powering an amplifier if you don't have one it won't do anything.

We have a fixed aerial with an amplifier on it, but that’s powered from 12v. So it’s if I plug an aerial directly into the tv, like a portable one? Only curious- flippin tv needs replacing when we get back as it’s on the blink!

My advise is buy a cheap supermarket TV instead of an overpriced avtex.
I used nothing but in all four of our vans with no trouble at all.

The TV antenna output is 5v.
