Avtex sound bar issues

Had a avtex tv and sound bar for a few years with no problems , connected by the arc hdmi lead . Now when I connect it I get a speaker symbol on my tv and no sound on the tv or sound bar - unless I disconnect it and the tv speaker works as normal .

I suspect the very short hdmi cable has been over tight and damaged but … maybe someone has had this before and knows a solution ?

I’ve had a similar issue with my Avtex sound bar although I’ve been a bit lazy and haven’t tried to find out exactly why the arc hdmi lead currently isn’t working. However we now just connect using Bluetooth, the sound quality appears to be just as good. If you’re not happy using Bluetooth I would just buy another short arc hdmi lead which would confirm or not your over tight theory.

Had this issue - it was a damaged lead but check the TV settings just in case,

Yep it was a damaged hdmi lead all sorted now
