Avtex smart tv how to connect to campsite WiFi

I have a Avtex Smart TV and it's brilliant. I connect to the internet using my phone as a hotspot and have been watching Netflix, Amazon and Disney.
But when my phone signal is poor and I want to connect using the campsite WiFi I have a problem. The WiFi comes up on the list on the TV but although it connects I can't find any way of putting in the required password.
In the 2 months I've been in Europe this has only been a very occasional issue as my phone signal is very good but frustrating all the same.
Is there a solution?

Could you not set your phones WiFi to connect to the site WiFi and continue using the phone as the hot spot?

i have previously used the Motorhome Wifi set up to connect to French camp sites. one benefit of that is that it allows you to connect more than one device to the camp site internet via the Motorhome Wifi

Could you not set your phones Wifi to connect to the site WiFi and continue using the phone as the hot spot?

As far as I'm aware a phones hotspot is only connected to the internet via the phones cellular connection and is not assignable to WiFi.

Try setting the TV up as a new installation.

You’re right, just tried it on my phone, as soon as the hot spot is switched on it moved from the house WiFi to mobile data.

As others have said the WiFi automatically switches off when the hotspot is selected.
