Avtex invalid format no pic but sound

Hi all
Touring irland and today moved into the Republic (south), tunned in tv and got invalid format message on blue screen no pic but sound.
Had a good look at set up but no idea how to change
Anyone got any ideas?

Have you got roaming on the sim card? Otherwise as Eire is outside the Uk, coverage won't automatically apply.
I found out the hard way when in Ireland for a week and I couldnt receive calls on my mobile nor check voicemail......

Depending on the age of your Avtex TV the reason for you getting an invalid format notification is because a few years ago Irish tv started to use MPEG4 hardware and UK TV used MPEG2 hardware. I think the new UK tv's have got.MPEG 4 systems fitted but you would have to check out which manufacturer has this.

Yeah TV is the wrong format for the roi signal. Will work in Northern Ireland as you have found out.

You can check the Avtex support website for any updates for your TV. Download on a computer / laptop to a USB stick.
