Evening All!

Just fitted an Avtek 19.5” smart tv to my 22 Swift 774. All went well with mounting, made and fitted/bonded reinforcing pad on front bulkhead etc. Powered up, auto-tuned, found 138 stations (I remember the excitement of getting three when I was a kid!) and went to channel list. All showing no information and on selection flags up “no signal”.
No info in the Swift booklet or online thatI can find, nothing helpful in Avtek instructions. Mystified because if it’s an aerial problem how did it find 138 stations? Fitted standard push in coax cable but wonder if I should fit a Sat cable instead? Is the MH aerial usually connected to the Sat? previous motorhome connection was sat cable to tv. Selected digital tv only on Avtek, will sort wifi later is the plan. Don’t know if there’s a convention here I’m unaware of… the aerial is directional.

Any ideas Funsters?

Not a clue myself but I feel your pain after an ultimately unresolvable issue with my Sharp, have you tried here: https://www.avtex.co.uk/support ?

Have you tested the new tv in your house ?, if it doesn’t work when connected to your house aerial the tv is faulty. Have you tried another tv in your van ?

Have you the current firmware (software) on the TV?.

If you go the Avtex site and their support section, you should be able to download via computer the latest updates for your specific TV onto a USB stick and then update the TV.

What sort of tv aerial is it? Mine is directional and needs the booster on. Can’t explain why it found the channels unless just enough of a signal to do that bit. Hope you get sorted.

Thanks Stuart,

Late last night I actually got it working. Had a unidirectional aerial on my last MH, this one’s directional with a signal finder. No mention of how that works at handover or in Swift manuals etc, just one of the many things that you come across ion MH’s. All good fun. Now moving in to unravel the network and sort out which sim is best… 😱

Brilliant!! Thanks for letting us know. If you've not done so already I recommend you look at giffgaff, on the O2 5G network so usually good signal & you buy a month's use as & when & if you're actually going to use it. Prices are very respectable with a good range of data sizes to pick from including an unlimited option and, last time I checked, no penalty in the EU.
