The only place according to Sollatek is to buy from their own website or Amazon.
If you buy on Amazon it comes direct from Sollatek themselves
Apparently also its on promotion by using code Sollatek 40

Looked for an AW30 a couple of days ago by googling it, so many different prices, cheapest from AliBaba of course, but The Amazon link showed a price of arround £28 along the top bar, but when you click on the link it took me to Sollatek site and the price was much higher. Cant understand what's going on with the weblink from Google to Amazon showing it as a reduced offer price initially.

Thank you
Frightening.
You could buy what you think is the real deal and end up with a fake.
The only way you will ever tell the difference (other than opening it up) is if you end up with a fire in your motorhome.

The real ones can be got here or here for about £75
Or you can pick up a nice looking fake for about half the price, but it looks like Sollatek have been fairly successful in having the pirated copies removed from the more obvious resellers who may want to protect their reputation.

will try in the morning - just having new windscreen fitted (in my car thankfully - would hate to know the excess price on the motorhome - £75 on the car for a bloody chip is bad enough, but it was 15mm - which is 5mm to wide to be repaired!!)

Code does not work on Amazon and price has gone up to £84.80 (just tried.

Thats because they monitor our forum and know the demand has gone up.

What is it and how do you know it is a fake?

Lenny, as you are the 'go to guy' for this sort of stuff, when mine arrives, I was looking at installing it just the internal side of the hook up plug in point, I have easy access, after taking out the back panel of the under bed cupboard. Do you think this would work out, I won't have immediate access to the unit afterwards, but I'm assuming that once the parameters are set, there will be no need.John.

Mine is next to my consumer unit, useful to have access to it but not essential, sometimes I can't be bothered to wait for it so I override the time delay.

Over voltage, under voltage and surge protection unit. see post#3
Another fancy thing I don't need then but that doesn't explain how the op knew he had a fake.

He paid ½ the going rate for one direct from China.

If is not a fancy item you don't need quite an important bit of kit if you used EHU in France and other European countries probably not so important in the UK.

A lot of Motorhome charger distribution units like Elektroblocks fail due to too lower or too higher voltage. European sites often have low voltage problems especially when full and overvoltage sometimes happens on overhead cable feeds. Then there are surge problems when lightning strikes overhead cables.

A lot cheaper to spend 80 quid on an AVS 30 than 500 quid on an new Elektroblock.
I originally fitted mine when I was going on a Greek ferry, as ships Generators can be a bit iffy.

Mains charger and 12v distribution system one of the most popular in Motorhomes, CBE is another common one.

Cheers that explains it then I have a consumer unit out of a caravan with two breakers and a caravan charger, doesn't look anything like that. :giggle:
But it still doesn't say how he knew he had a fake, did it blow this gubbins up or something?

Well my AVS 30 has arrived via Amazon and quick question Lenny, the setting on it at the moment are LOW 160 & High 260, I haven't a clue what is desirable for my Hymer, what are yours at? John.

That is far too wide I set mine to Low 190 & high 250.
The Schaudt OVP 01 is 175 & 265 I prefer to be a bit more cautious.

Is the Schault one as good? Apart from having different voltage triggers. The bump I read out it was it was slow reacting.
