Autotrail Frontier Dakota Towbar

This was fitted to my 2014 Autotrail Dakota for less than twelve months. A substantial piece of kit comprising of the EC approved tow bar with reinforcing straps, E-coated, complete with two height flange, socket mounting plate, towball, and cover. The towbar is TAUT 3 and rated to 1250kgs.

There is a vehicle specific wiring harness, so simply unplug the existing socket over the rear axle, insert the adapter socket, and re insert the plug. A feed is taken to the battery, as simple as that. It's a thirteen pin socket, but a seven pin adapter is included.. I would suggest it's picked up as it's heavy. All nuts and bolts included. More details on EBay towtrust towbars. Cost just under £400 , so around £150 please.

Hi Mike

Do you still have the towbar for sale ?

Looking at purchasing a towbar system for my 2010 Arapaho. Can you provide any further information on size (width between sides fixings) to fit a Tag axle ? It looks like the parts in your picture allow this to fix to the chassis but drop lower than the rear plastic trims?

Be grateful for any additional information or pictures if you can provide them.

We've been in France for the last several months, had a property there in the Dordogne, which we've just sold. Arrived back yesterday, and the towbar is in the garage. I'm not sur how we do this from the forum,. The span is 123cms. I would think that all the chassis extensions from Autotrail would be the same on most similar models It also has a plate to strengthen the structure between the Fiat chassis and the chassis extension. The wiring kit is pre-wired, and one end connects to the battery, midpoint is a plug which tees into the existing loon.and the socket. its a thirteen pin socket, and I left the adapter in the Dakota when I sold it. It's an hour or so on your back to fir, not difficult
