Interested because I have a not dissimilar issue. OK, not quite the same. I had an alarm and tracker fitted. If I unlock the cab door first and then the hab door, the hab door will not open from the outside, with or without the key, and I have to go through the cab and open from inside. If I unlock the hab door first it opens from the outside, however, relocks fairly quickly unless I also unlock and open and close the cab door. If the hab door relocks and I have stepped outside the van, like yours it will not reopen when I press unlock and I have to go through the cab and open from inside (assuming I remembered to open cab door otherwise keys are locked inside). I know I need to call the alarm people, however, I have been hoping that it is operator error, or there may be something in the infotainment menu, not many sequences left to try. Appreciate this does not help you in the slightest, however, someone ay be able to pint us both in the right direction

Thankyou Quackers and Dolmen have tried dash lock drivers door inside button remote and alarm/immobiliser fob button lots of clicking may be I haven’t mastered the right sequence don’t know what to try next

Had the same with autotrail imala 2019. Opened from inside with handle went outside WITHOUT key closed door couldn't get back in.

Luckily the locker hatch at rear was unlocked and I came up through the bed.

Dodgy lock, one of the many things fixed by the dealer.

Are there any electrical contacts on the edge of the door. If so then clean them. I had the same issue with a Burstner and also a couple of times with our new Carthago. Both have sprung contacts in the door and just needed cleaning. Wouldn’t open with remote or dash button but would with a key.

There was a known problem on past Autotrails with the Hartel door, electrical contacts made of steel so they rust and stop connection.
Worth looking at those and cleaning if needed, use to have to do mine every few years. Did mention it to Autotrail but just got a shrug..

I have had the problem with my Comanche , tried all the clicking of dash switch and the remote etc but what cured it was a good squirt of Silicone lube in the keyhole in the hab door handle and push and turn the key a few times, that lasted 3 years and it went again so tried the same procedure and all as been well since so now I give it a squirt at regular intervals , whatever you do the afore mentioned will do no harm

Check the wires in the door contacts, the bottom green wire has a habit of detaching as it chafes on the aluminium cut out. When you reattach it have refit the green wire downwards.
