Rally Chat attending rallies

We joined the club at the Newbury show and are interested in attending rallies, however being a recent "silver surfer" I am not sure of how to go about it. I have read the "how to book a rally" section
and it says to RSVP, but for instance we would like to attend the rally at Rufforth from July 17-25
next year, but the site says the RSVP is closed as do several other sites we have looked at, yet other posts on the page have said they will attend, how do we reply/contact anybody ??....HELP !!!

Hello Norray!

Sometimes the rally organisers disable the RSVP to make admin easier. Just add your name to the thread - eventually a list of attendees will appear

If the rally is oversubscribed you may be added to a reserve list.

You need to look in scheduled rallies, York fun Rally, and follow the last poster to say that you are interested in going , looking at this I think it will be a very popular rally as it has already been mentioned in rally planning/ discussion and quite a lot of names on it, when someone considers arranging a rally it is sometimes put in there to see if there is interest and then when it is a definite it moves across to the scheduled rally spot, you will soon find your way around the forum,

as Gloworm has advised -use the"post a reply" at the end of the Rally thread to advise that you wish to attend. For this particualr rally there is no definite list -the organiser is just taking names of those that may be interested and then to pm them in the new year to determine the actual interest.

According to the new thread for the rally at Rufforth bookings are not available until January that is why the rsvp is closed at the moment

Correct, we find that starting a list too early just means a lot of changes as Funsters with the best of intentions find that they can no longer come for whatever reason. Starting in January is still 7 months before the Rally and a lot can happen in that time.
