We are thinking of a 2 month motorhome tour of Europe next year, all being well, and would like to incorporate a visit to Assen to watch the Moto GP, does anyone know if it is best to obtain tickets beforehand, or pay on the gate on the day(s).

Book direct through the circuit beforehand is the cheapest way.

I agree and that's what I normally do. However if you don't want to commit so far in advance you will be able to get general entry tickets (unlikely grandstand sats) on the day. Viewing is not too bad at Assen with a general ticket but beware the weather. It's Assen, it rains. That's the law.

We have been before a few years ago, and yes, it rained,!
Also need camping information as well.

Sorry can't help with camping details. I've always gone by bike and stayed in hotels in Groningen.

If you want a grandstand seat , you will be doing well.. they sell out fast.

Don’t usually bother, we like to wander round.

Im the same, not been since they santised the place, although we might make the MXGP there at some point.

You know how to show a woman a good time.

She is 'special'.

One of the most exiting circuits I've raced at & the spectators are the most knowledgeable & appreciative you could meet, I would say my Favorite (y)

Deffo a riders circuit, i feel the changes have spoiled the flow.

And as for Dutch fans, i could not agree more. We went to the french MXGP the week before Assen, i got roped in to being a wheel mule for practice, and she just wanted to chill back in the campsite, so i left her there, she fell asleep in the sun, and got proper burnt, and the Dutch guys next to us took her in, gave her a load of aftersun, and then fed us for the whole weekend, as we were on a bike with bugger all kit. Still see a couple of them at races now, always have a beer with them.

We were camping at one of the circuits campsites, got friendly with some Dutch bikers after I gave them my MCN, had a great weekend with them, and all the crowd, as long as you didn’t stand up in front of them when the racing was on, then you got a Heineken can across the swede.
