Auto-Trail
Good afternoon on this Sunny Bank holiday Sunday:sun:.. I am asking myself what am I doing in here when I should be out there. Well the answer is I have been working on our campervan today and just popped in to find some info and came across you chaps.
Having now joined the group ( obvious) I though I would do a quick intro.

We bought our van back in April 24, an Auto-Trail 635 V-Line sport, after trying several vans from a very long and large Swift to a T6... finally settled on the 635 Camper after we saw, and was lucky enough to view, one on a camp site. Following this, during our several visits to the NEC we looked at almost all of the vans/motorhomes but were sold on the 635 V-line sport due to its size, ( not too Big, not too small.. in fact just right Goldilocks) inside seems very spacious due to all the high cupboards/toilet/shower being on one side and the low cupboards/sink being on the other, the Panoview screen throws in lots of light and the U shaped seating and lift up boot adds great storage. A bonus being the two habitation tables, which means my wife can prepare the breakfast whilst I laze in bed. I wish , usually its is off to the shower block with her whilst I put the bed away, but it does give us the option to leave the bed down and still have somewhere inside to eat.

Has it had its teething problems "Yes", what van hasn't . Its a camper van built on a Fiat chassis it does not have the suspension of a car so it twists, it shakes and it bangs when you hit a rough bit, as all Campervans & Motorhomes do, so a few teething troubles are to be expected. West Country Motor Homes who sold us the van have been exceptional in ensuring a quick resolve with all problems to date.
We have just completed a 50 day tour of Spain and Portugal over 2500 miles and it has not missed a beat. Admittedly a few snags have raised there ugly head but these will be ironed out next month when it goes in to have air assist suspension fitted, do we like the van ... well... we love it. It's a 140 nine speed Automatic, some may say 140 is under powered... but for our van this didn't seem to be the case, whipping up the Sierra Nevada hills (or any other hill) at 120 Km it ate the road, even with a tow bar carrier and two bikes..
So that is it, a quick intro.. oh!.. we are Baby Boomers, enjoying retirement, live near Goostrey in Cheshire, and the two of us have been vanning for several years.
Now back out to the Sun and the Van .. forgot what I came in for
